Year 10 Visual Arts

Sculpture

For our last term of the year students have been busy designing and hand building clay vessels inspired by the shapes and textures found in nature. Here are some photos of their planning and final products.

Art With Meaning

Last term students created their own mini body of works. They needed to research a current social issue which they were interested in and design a body of work which explored this. They had freedom to work in any medium they chose and students challenged themselves in learning screen-printing, spray painting and working with charcoal.

Sculpture

This term we will be studying sculpture in art history. Start by viewing the PowerPoint then watch the two video's below.

Lino Prints

Earlier this year, Year 10 Visual Arts made some lovely lino prints inspired by examples of Chinese art we had been studying in class. Take a look.

Portrait Paintings

Year 10 Visual Arts finished some excellent portraits last term. They chose someone they knew, took a series of photographs then painted them in a way inspired by an artist they have studied. Great job guys!

  1. These artworks are great! There is such a nice range of activities you have covered to keep your students interested over the course of the year.
It is really handy how the Ai Wei Wei U Tube clips are there for instant reference too.

  2. I could also see a nice link to other artists who are influenced by social issues such as George Gittoes and Doris Salcedo.
